New! Daim Cake

Had a request from my niece and nephew to bake the Daim cake which was available from the Ikea food store but has now been discontinued there.

Its actually 2 layers of almondy cake with more layers of pastry cream and chocolate ganache.

It's a very rich cake and my version is a thicker one, as I cant help piling on the layers!

Cake decorating 101

 My close pals Nik & Shireen requested me to conduct a basic buttercream cake decorating class for them recently. Nik's daughter, Myra joined us as well. It was fun! Here are some photos of their work of art....

Nutella Cookies - 'nuff said!

Don't you just love nutella? When I'm feeling a bit naughty I have it with bread (brown bread, I might add, just to make me feel less guilty) for breakfast. Yes, I know, so sinful....sorry to torture you for those who are fasting......

Ramadan al Mubarak

This was the last order before Ramadan.

The theme is of Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles and Yoshi.

The cake is the Strawberry & White Chocolate Dream Cake, new from Loves Desserts.

It is a Buttercream cake with strawberry filling and frosted with white chocolate buttercream, and also topped with fresh strawberries.

This is the Gingered Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese frosting.

I dare say I'm very proud of this cake and it is one of Loves Desserts' all time classic. 

Simply Barbie-licious!

My little girl is mad about Barbie. I think most girls are, right? That explains my excitement when a friend commissioned me to make a 3D Barbie cake for her daughter. I wish I had a cake like this growing up!

 ....and pink vanilla cupcakes to go with the Barbie cake, of course!

 You should also try Loves Desserts' Red Velvet Cupcakes, topped with Cream Cheese frosting. Yummeh....

 This Buttercream Cake in A Bouquet of Roses design was for the aqiqah ceremony for 2 baby girls. Sweet!
